Last Wednesday Roc City Boom faced a crushing 3-1 defeat to United Elite Krajisnik. Sunday was another uninspiring and bland performance from the Boom. It’s becoming a serious concern that the Boom will miss out on playoffs as we are 4 of 11 games into the season and not only are they not improving but they are running out of time.
There are very few positives of the game but one could possibly be that Tamas played his first game of the season after coming back from college and he scored on his season debut. Though it did come from a penalty which didn’t exactly affect the match.
The Boom will be playing Syracuse FC at home this Sunday at 7 PM at Eastridge Highschool.
And this will be the first time that the Boom will be going into a game, not as the favorites but as the clear underdog.
Is there a chance that the Roc City Boom can turn the season around? Of course, are they showing signs that they will turn it around? No, they are continuing to take steps back.
They have been incapable of making true chances and are relying on brilliant moments from individuals rather than team performances. Against RNYFC Academy it took an injured Peter DiLorenzo to have two great moments off crosses to save a point. Within that game, there were very few chances. Until the 39th minute, the Boom failed to even get a shot on target.
Overall this Sunday will be vital to how the rest of the Roc City Booms season goes. A confident win with an actually good performance will show that it’s not over yet, but a loss will almost definitely be the end of Booms realistic hopes to achieve a playoffs spot
